On Monday, November 17th, the Gamma Delta Chapter brought excitement, gratitude, and

sisterly joy to Swansboro Elementary School in Richmond. In celebration of American Education Week, Sorors gathered to honor the hardworking teachers and staff who shape young minds every single day.
A Morning Filled With Love and Appreciation
Our Sorors showed up bright and early at 7:00 AM to set up an inviting appreciation table. By 7:30 AM, the full team was in position, ready to welcome educators with warm smiles, uplifting words, and a breakfast spread that made Monday feel like a holiday.

The AEW Committee prepared an impressive assortment of pastries, fruit, yogurt, breakfast bars, juice, and water. Krispy Kreme donated 5 dozen delicious donuts. Attendance included: Sorors Cynthia Rollins, Virginia Johnson, Edith Mason, Gail E. Davis, Kimberly Jordan, Gwen Cody-Davis, Lillian Owens, Jean Pittman, Cynthia Stinchcomb, and Debora Holliday, along with two community volunteers. Teachers and staff were greeted with genuine joy and honored throughout the morning.
Wendy’s donated 50 chicken sandwiches, brought in at 10:30 AM by Soror Virginia Johnson to give educators an extra treat as the day went on.
Thoughtful Gifts for Every Educator
Each teacher received a specially curated Teacher Appreciation Bag, which included:

Acrylic apple filled with candy
Hand sanitizer
Sticker
Thank-you card
GDC informational card
A small but meaningful way to remind educators just how valued they are.
Shout-Out to Our Creative Sorors
Deep appreciation goes to Soror Kimberly Jordan and Soror Jonnitra Peeples for their creative ideas, graphic designs, and heartfelt contributions that brought this AEW project to life. Their work added an extra layer of sparkle to the celebration.

Honoring ALL Gamma Delta Educators
The celebration extended beyond Swansboro Elementary. The committee recognized the amazing educators within our own chapter and community, not just current teachers, but former teachers, substitute teachers, Bible School teachers, tutors, and every Soror who has ever stepped into an educational role.
This acknowledgment included Sorors Dorothy B. Lee, Valerie Mills-Pullen, Kimberly Jordan, Cynthia Stinchcomb, Charleen Walters, Patricia Mills, Lillian Owens, Rhonda Keyes Pleasants, and Dr. Tabatha Spurlock, along with every GDC Soror who has guided, taught, or inspired others in any capacity.

A Celebration That Made an Impact
The Principal, Dr. Theron Sampson, along with the teachers and staff, expressed sincere appreciation for the recognition, delicious breakfast, chicken sandwiches and thoughtful gifts. The day reflected the true spirit of American Education Week, recognizing the invaluable role educators play and celebrating their dedication to student success.
This initiative wrapped the entire school community in love, support, and sisterhood, everything Gamma Delta proudly represents.
