Inspiring Young Minds Through Career Exploration

On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 4 PM, the Gamma Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. proudly hosted its Career Exploration Program at The A.R.T.S. Community Center, located on Hull Street Road in Midlothian, Virginia.

The Gamma Delta Chapter proudly hosted a dynamic Career Exploration Program designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and introduce children to the possibilities of entrepreneurship, professional development, and business ownership.

A Day of Learning, Leadership, and Big Dreams

Twenty-two (22) bright and eager children participated in this interactive experience, engaging with real professionals who shared their personal journeys, businesses, and career paths. The program featured seven (7) Sorors and one (1) Men of Iota (MOI) who served as presenters, offering relatable insights and practical encouragement.

Each presenter hosted a table where participants learned about different career fields and business ventures. After each presentation, the children visited the tables to receive a sticker for their Career Exploration Passport, because learning is more fun when it feels like a quest.

Once all stickers were collected, every child received a special goodie box and gift, reinforcing participation, engagement, and a job well done.

Community Support Makes the Difference

The Gamma Delta Chapter extends heartfelt appreciation to Soror Virginia Johnson and Soror Kim Henderson for their presence and support throughout the event. We also offer sincere thanks to Amiri, Jay and Cindy Richards-Keys for graciously allowing the chapter to utilize The A.R.T.S. facility and for partnering with us to intrigue and inspire young minds about entrepreneurship and business ownership. Their support was instrumental in the success of this program. A special thank-you goes to Click of Creativity for designing the children’s goodie box prizes and passports. These thoughtful and creative elements elevated the experience, kept the children engaged, and added a fun, interactive layer to their learning journey.
