Gamma Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. gathered in love and gratitude to honor our esteemed charter member, Soror Florence B. Henderson. The celebration began with a warm welcome from Soror Valerie Mills Pullen, who shared the purpose of the gathering and set the tone for a meaningful tribute to our chapter’s living legacy.
Soror Florence B. Henderson’s children, Rita Henderson and Oliver Henderson Jr., graciously introduced the chapter members to Gamma Delta’s sole surviving charter member and shared powerful reflections on the early beginnings of the chapter. At just 23 years old, Soror Florence Henderson, alongside six other visionary young women, chartered Gamma Delta Chapter. The history shared during this moment was invaluable and will be preserved as an important part of our chapter’s legacy.

Soror Cynthia Rollins offered a heartfelt prayer, grounding the occasion in gratitude and reverence. Chapter President, Gail E. Davis followed by highlighting Gamma Delta’s accomplishments and milestones, connecting the foundation laid by our charter members to the chapter’s continued growth and impact.
In a beautiful expression of love and appreciation, Gamma Delta Chapter honored Soror Henderson with a dozen white roses, an IotaLand blanket, and a special written tribute by Soror Patricia Mills. These tokens symbolized the chapter’s deep respect and enduring admiration for her contributions.
The gathering concluded with moments of joy and reflection as Soror Henderson shared

memories from the early years of Gamma Delta. Her sweet spirit, strength, and unwavering dedication continue to inspire sorors across generations. It was truly an honor to celebrate a living piece of Gamma Delta history and to reaffirm our commitment to carrying her legacy forward.
