Welcome to Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.  Gamma Delta Chapter.

I am honored and humbled to serve as president of this amazing chapter. Our Sorority is founded on Christian principles which allow me to walk in my God’s given purpose of coaching, leading, and mentoring.  Chartered in 1954, Gamma Delta has supported the Richmond community for over 60 years.  Iota’s aim is to make worthwhile contributions to our increasingly global society, promote the pursuit of excellence in all worthy endeavors among youth and adults, and develop leadership expertise among business and professional women. Every year we plan projects and programs to further the aims and ideals of the organization. Iota Phi Lambda Sorority coaches business and professional women through leadership development.  In addition, we lead by establishing and promoting civic and social service activities for youth and adults and mentor young women in high school and college through planned programs and scholarships,  tutorial programs and by providing career guidance for young people deciding on a career and for those looking for a career change.

Our Founder Lola Mercedes Parker was a visionary who saw economic independence as a way to freedom in the African-American community. In the 21st century, the goals of Iota are just as relevant as they were over 85 years ago when the Sorority was founded.    Gamma Delta Chapter is comprised of members from a wide variety of career fields and backgrounds which, through chapter participation, every member has an opportunity to engage in activities related to the broad interests of the sorority being fully committed to the missions of Iota.
