Welcome to Gamma Delta!  

 

Congratulations, you have reached the website of the first African American Business Sorority in the United States.  Gamma Delta Chapter is one of 67 Chapters (graduate and undergraduate), over 1,000 members and five regions which encompass Iota as a Sorority.  Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. has a rich history.  Feel free to peruse our Regional and National websites.  

 

Gamma Delta Chapter in Richmond, VA was established November 27, 1954 and currently has 44 members.  We have one member who has been a member for 67+ years.  Iota, Gamma Delta has been a constant presence in the Richmond area contributing our assistance in the elementary, middle and high schools; in social services programs for the young and the elderly; and, participating in business endeavors. 

 

Today Gamma Delta is a national award winning Chapter in the Eastern Region, which includes the following states Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and the Virgin Islands.  This Chapter has won the Outstanding President's Award and Chapter Achievement Award several times at the Regional and National levels along with awards for its Programs and Projects in the Richmond area.  

 

Gamma Delta's Chapter will be 69 years young this year and is composed of business and professional women who  showcase their talents through Iota's missions, projects and programs as team players.  Volunteering at all levels, its members make Iota and Gamma Delta look good!  Networking with like-minded women in friendship and love and sisterhood brings us all together.
